Pearl 3 – The Thirty Years War

We argued on the College bus,
We’ve argued ever since;
Sometimes I’m wrong,
Sometimes you’re right,
But I’m not about to admit it!
Sometimes you’re tired,
Sometimes you’re grumpy –
I can be loud,
I can even be shouty!
We can argue about what’s for tea,
Or the right way to plant a tree,
Who should do which household chore,
I don’t mind – s’long as you do more!
We’ve argued now for thirty years
But I recall my Grancher’s words:
No matter how long you’ve been wed –
Don’t take the argument to bed!
