Clouds scudding across
Darkening skies:
Souls released from heaven
Flying over those below.
Interaction is forbidden
But looking is fine –
So they don’t forget
And will know us when we meet
In a next-world street.
Clouds merges and reform:
A reminiscence rain-cloud
Breaking your thoughts
And you see someone
You’ve loved and lost,
The shape of a nose,
A cheeky smile,
A familiar glint in the eyes,
Lights up the skies.
Clouds cannot stay
And nor can souls,
Quickly merging
Into unknown abstracts –
Blown by the winds,
Towed along by
Angel-hosts;
All-age humans
Awaiting reunion.
