Cracks

The depravity of humanity
Is the capacity to
Reduce someone to
An inhuman, non-being,
In full, public view.
Knowingly and openly moving people
Along a conveyor belt
To be tipped through
Cracks in the earth
Opened by false philosophy
And extreme ideology.
While the world looks on
And sees nothing.

Illegal internments, political imprisonments,
Weak governments,
Still persist.
The unseeing eye
Refusing to see
Children in camps,
Human rights abused
In successive histories
Including today –
Plausible deniability,
Denied their humanity
By voices not speaking
Until it’s too late.

Question loudly and vociferously,
Don’t mindlessly
Jump on the cracks
Where the crust is thin.
Counter argument with argument,
Challenge false gods
To prove their existence
Before the veneer of civility
Becomes just a number,
Destroying sanctity and sanity
With an altered mentality.
Beware, the gates of hell
Are easily opened.
