Love Ripples

Love is a precious commodity
More valuable than rare jewels
Yet shines just as bright,
Revealing rainbows of light
Reflecting off multi-faceted sides.
This valuable gift
Asks for trust in return,
Grows stronger than desire
To shine ever brighter
And mellow slowly, slowly,
Into a contented old-age.
True love is as old gold:
Naturally luminescent,
A reliable and solid support,
‘Though it cannot be bought
Nor can it be earned.
Love can only be shared,
Love not shared will die,
Becomes stagnant,
Sowing seeds of discontentment.
Shared love spreads and grows
Like ripples in a pond
Moving ever outwards
To distant shores,
Continuing to light the darkness.

1 Peter 4:8 ‘Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.’

A short sexy break

On our twenty-eighth wedding anniversary
I want to thank Chris for putting up with me!
I’m not the easiest person, that’s for certain
And he copes admirably.
We’re off down the pub for a drink and a steak
And I’ve booked Milan for a short, sexy break,
It shows I’m still loving, still caring and sharing,
Not ready yet to step on the brakes.
We’ve had some fun, some laughter and tears
But I wouldn’t swap my twenty eight years,
I still love my man, there’s life in us yet
And I’m pleased to say I have no regrets. X
